This is one side of Israels genocide of Palestinians you’ve never seen before. PARA was formed from the goodness of the Australian spirit to help forcibly displaced Palestinians now arriving in Australia. For the first time, the team has allowed cameras in as they work, day and night, to support Gazans who have moved from the daily threat of death to start again. Journalist & filmmaker Patrick Abboud follows three families as they struggle to secure visas, find homes and put broken hearts back together again. A story of hope, resilience and the will — against all odds — to build a stronger future in a foreign land.

THE IMPACT

‍

On the evening that 'Unsettled' went to air on the ABC national public broadcaster in Australia - PARA saw a massive spike in donations to their initiatives supporting forcibly displaced Palestinians in Australia and the diaspora. This has resulted in directly building the capacity for PARA to provide ongoing support to the community. 'Unsettled' was the first time newly arrived Gazans in Australia shared their experiences in a documentary. The film saw extraordinary access to a community too often not heard or seen on our screens in this way.
